Updates: we released the original STP file for the Lander in May 2022 before the production versions of the knives were finished. There is now a V2 that is upgraded to exactly match the production knives.
Our friend Travis at reverse engineered the scales with a 3D scan of the production knife. He's a literal wizard, rumored to have gone to school with Sirius Black. Anyway, he was nice enough to release his files to the public in several formats. It's worth noting that Travis loosened up the tolerances on the "Modification for 3D Printing" files to work better with PLA. We found that PLA shrinks a bit when it cools, causing the scales to be too small to fit the liners. It works like a dream now.
The Lander scales are Fast Swap, meaning you don't have to disassemble the pivot or frame of the knife to swap the scales. It's a universe of possibilities, and we feel strongly about opening that world to you. The scales are open source via Creative Commons License Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0)-- users can distribute, remix, adapt, and build upon the scales in any medium or format, so long as attribution is given to the creator. The license allows for commercial use. We just ask that you link back to Knafs, preferably this page. Simple. Open. Endless possibilities.
